Cyanotypes a 170 years photographic printing process that produce a colour of a distinctive dark blueish colour.The word cyan means dark blue substance cyan comes from greek.Anna Atkins used cyanotypes printing process in 1843.Engineers used this process in the 20th century it was referred as blueprints.
Information about Anna Atkins The cyanotypes process was mainly used mostly by Anna Atkins she mainly used plants in her cyanotypes and she discovered the interest of plants she was pleased about how cyanotypes capture the little details of the plants because most camera can't that why she was so interested in cyanotypes and that why she used them so much.
How are they made? 1.First poor 25 g ferric ammonium citrate and 100 ml water in one bottle, 10 g potassium ferricyanide and 100 ml of water in the other bottle. 2.First you will need photographic paper. 3.Then you will need a few objects to place on top of the paper. 4.Place the objects and paper in direct sunlight for about 10 to 15 minutes. 5.Once paper has been exposed allow the photographic paper to sit under water for about 5 minutes 6.After that you will need to put the photographic paper in these two solution potassium ferricyanide and Ferric ammonium citrate are mixed with water separately. 7. Finally you will need to wash it off with water 8.Then let it dry.
